Overview:
Discount codes can be used on designer tags, personalizations, and/or connectors, depending on the code. Discount codes must be entered on the payment page.
How-To:
- In order to get to the payment page to input the discount code, you need to go through the Order Process explained below.
- On the main page, click on “Pet Owner Record Search” and type in the first and last name of the pet owner you’re looking for.
3. From there, you’ll click on the pet owner’s name to access their DocuPet profile.
4. On the left hand side, scroll to “Order History” and click “New Order”.
5. Eligible pets will show in the “Currently Eligible" section. Pets are eligible if they don’t have a current license, or the renewal window is open for the pet. Click “Confirm License Details” and then “Add to Order” to proceed.
6. Next, you will need to verify that your contact information is correct. If any required fields are missing or require an update, you will be prompted to do so before being allowed to proceed with the “Contact Details are Correct” button.
7. On the Pet License Information page you may want or need to update the following information:

- Microchip details
- Spay/neuter status and associated proofs if applicable
- Rabies expiration dates and documents.
8. If your organization requires validating rabies vaccination, select an expiration date in the future. You will then be prompted to create a “Digital Proof” verifying the documentation was reviewed and/or uploaded.
9. Click “Continue” to move forward with License Selection.
10. The License Selection screen will automatically select the license type it assumes to be correct based on what is known about both the pet owner and pet profile.

- For example, it will populate the altered rate if the pet is listed as spayed/neutered.
- It will also always serve the shortest duration license (For example: 1yr versus 3yr)
11. As an administrator you may use the dropdown menu to select an alternate license if applicable:

- Special discounted license
- Multi-year license, etc.
- If your city requires, please read the expiration date disclaimer to the pet owner and confirm their verbal understanding.

12. Applicable late fees/penalty fees will populate automatically on this page as well. This can be removed by an administrator if necessary.
13. Tags are required to be selected in any case where the pet in question does not already have a DocuPet tag. If a DocuPet tag is already on file for that pet you will be provided with the option to skip tag selection and reuse their existing tag.
14. At this stage, you can offer the pet owner the standard tag or a designer tag option then we’ll need to go through the available customizations.
15. The customization options are as follows:

- Tag size: small or large
- Personalization: add their pet’s name and their phone number for $9.99 CAD or $7.99 USD
- Connector options: prices vary, the standard split ring is free
- From there, click ”Add to Order”
- On the main order screen, review the order summary on the right hand side of the screen.
- Any required adjustments can be made from this screen. You may also opt to add any additional items including:
- Additional fees
- Designer tags
- Products
- Donations
- When the above selections have been completed click “Continue”.
- On the payment screen, indicate what payment method you are accepting for this order. You can make use of the Reference Field if necessary to add additional notes. To process the order, click “Continue”.
21. Enter in the discount code, for example ADMIN100 and then hit "apply". The order summary will update with the discount code applied.
