Use Cases/Overview:
If/when there are duplicate Pet Accounts on a Pet Owner's profile, administrators have the option to merge the accounts together to maintain healthy records, avoid confusion and prevent duplicate communications being sent out to the Pet Owner.
Please note, you can only merge pet's that are within the same Pet Owner account.
Once a merge has been completed, it cannot be undone!
How-To:
- On the main page, scroll down to the “Data Management / Administration” Section.
- Click Pet Merge
- There are 2 mandatory fields: Source Pet ID (Delete) and Target Pet ID (Keep).
- For Source Pet ID (Delete): Please enter the Pet ID which needs to be deleted and its data merged into the retained Account. In this example, the Pet we are deleting is "Bird" and the Pet ID is 588.
- For Target Pet ID: Please enter the Pet Account ID which needs to be retained. In this example, we are retaining "Birdy" whose ID is 586.
- Once done, Click the "Merge" Button.
- Once completed, a green banner will appear at the top of the screen to show that the merge was successful.
- Now the updated Pet Owner account will show only the retained Pet's profile and a note will populate automatically to highlight that a merge was made to the account.
Important Considerations:
- The 'Retained' Pet account will NOT merge pet photos from the deleted pet account.
- Reminder: Pet photos can ONLY be added to a Pet Account by the Pet Owner themselves.
- Once a merge is complete- it cannot be undone.
