Overview:
When your community joins DocuPet, we automatically transfer all existing pet and tag information into the system. This includes Pet Owner details, pet records, and any tags issued within the past 1 to 3 years (dependant on the data provided).
Admins in the DocuPet system have the ability to manually add any previously issued pet tags to Pet accounts.
How-To:
1. On the home page, utilize the “Pet Owner Record Search” to navigate to the Pet Owner account you are looking for.
2. Next, navigate to the Pet profile you are going to add a previously issued tag for.
3. Scroll down to the Tags section of their profile and click on Add Previously Issued Pet Tag.
4. The status will default to Active - if the tag being added is not the most recently issued pet tag (i.e. the PO just purchased a DocuPet license/tag) you will need to set the status to Inactive, as it is not the Pet's active tag number.
5. Enter the Tag Number of the previously issued tag.
6. Select the Type of tag from the dropdown list, the options to choose from are:
License Year Tag (e.g., 2022, 2023, etc.)
Specialized Tag (e.g., Dangerous Dog 2024, Service Animal 2023, etc.).
7. Click Save to add the tag.
8. A green success banner will appear at the top of the Pet Owner profile once the tag has been saved. You can now see the previously issued Pet Tag listed under the 'Tags' section of the Pet's profile. Tags are listed in order from most recently active. In this example, the Pet has an active DocuPet tag, therefore, it is listed first.
Important Considerations:
The pet tag number can only include the following characters: letters, numbers, hyphens and spaces.
Tag numbers must be between 3 and 16 characters in length.
The system will verify that each tag number is unique within the same Organization. If the tag number is already assigned to a pet, an error message will be displayed.
Once a tag has been added to a Pet account, the only field that can be edited is the status of the tag. If you require any other edits to a tag number on a Pet account, please reach out to Administrator Support for assistance.
