This tutorial explains how to QA test your historical licensing data in the DocuPet demo environment. This step gives you a preview of how your organization’s data will appear once it has been imported into the live DocuPet system.
This exercise should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
Overview
During implementation, your specialist will provide you with two data sets:
1. Raw Data Set
- This is the original data your organization provided to DocuPet.
- It represents your source data before formatting or transformation.
2. Formatted Data Set
- This is DocuPet’s processed version of your data.
- It shows how your information will appear once fully imported into the system.
Note: These are sample data sets and will not include your full historical records.
Accessing the Test Environment
You will also be given access to one of DocuPet’s testing environments:
- Demo2 environment (used for this exercise)
Later in training, you will use Demo1, which includes full access to system tools.
All demo environments are strictly for testing purposes.
Any actions taken in these environments do not affect live data.
Step 1: Open the Pet Owner Record Search
To begin your review:
- Navigate to the Pet Owner Record Search tool.
- Use the search fields to locate records from the provided data sets.
- Click on a pet owner’s name to open their profile.
Step 2: Review the Data in the System
Once inside a pet owner profile, take time to review how the data is displayed on screen.
Focus on the following areas:
- Pet owner details.
- Pet information.
- License details.
- Vaccination records.
Step 3: Compare Data Sets
As you review records, compare:
- The raw data set.
- The formatted DocuPet version.
Look for how information has been:
- Structured.
- Standardized.
- Mapped into the system.
Pay close attention to:
- Placeholder values.
- Backfilled information.
- License dates.
- Vaccination expiration dates.
These were often discussed during implementation and may appear differently in the system than in the original dataset.
Step 4: Identify and Note Any Issues
While reviewing the data:
- If something looks incorrect.
- If something is missing.
- Or if something does not match expectations.
Please make a note of it and share it with your Implementation Specialist.
This feedback is an important part of ensuring your data is accurately represented in the live environment.
Important Notes
- This is an exploratory QA exercise, not a formal training session.
- You are not expected to be familiar with the system yet.
- All changes made in demo environments are safe and do not impact live data.
- The goal is simply to validate that your historical data appears correctly and as expected.
