What Is DocuPet's HomeSafe Service?

Overview:

HomeSafe is a free service provided by DocuPet to all pets with a DocuPet tag. Every DocuPet tag comes engraved with a unique HomeSafe™ code associated with the pet. This service is provided for all DocuPet programs and it is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

 

 

Pet Owners can login to their online account and report their pet as lost, providing details like the last known location and the date they went missing. Once they have submitted the report, it gets emailed to all pet owners within the geographic radius who have opted in to receive the Lost Pet Alerts. 








 

If a person finds a pet wearing a DocuPet tag, they can file a Pet Found Report via the DocuPet website OR they can call our HomeSafe team to report a found pet. When a pet is reported found, our HomeSafe team will reach out to the pet owner so they can go to pick up their pet.  

A HomeSafe™ code is critical to getting pets home safely, as it allows prompt identification of the pet when they are found and helps DocuPet get in touch with the owner or other secondary contacts to let them know where their pet is. 

Once the pet is found, the Pet Owner can log back into their account and report them found. This sends out a new email sharing the update with everyone in the lost pet brigade. Our DocuPet HomeSafe dispatch team is available 24/7 to assist pet finders and Pet Owners of lost pets.

Important Considerations:

If you would like to sign up for Lost Pet Alerts, follow the below steps. 

1. Go to your "Account Settings"
   
   

2. Check the box under "Sign up for Lost Pet Alerts"

3. Scroll down and select "Save Changes"
