DocuPet Terminology

Access Code: a unique number assigned to each individual Pet Owner which may be used to access their online account


Account Number: a Pet Owner’s ID within the DocuPet system


Agnostic User: A user who does not reside in a licensing community


Authenticate: a resident has a previous license on file, but needs to confirm the information via DocuPet to gain access to their online account


Customer Care: the assistance and advice provided by DocuPet to customers who buy or use our products or services

Designer Tag: DocuPet’s selection of etched or enamel tags in a variety of bespoke styles and colors


Expiration Date: the date in which a pet’s license is set to expire based on their license term


Found Pet Report: a report submitted by a community member who has found a pet wearing a DocuPet tag. May be filed via a user’s account, or by calling our HomeSafe hotline


Help Center/Help Centre: an organized self-serve resource centre available online


HomeSafe™: the complimentary 24/7 lost pet service which relies on a dedicated full time dispatch staff and intuitive linked profiles to help get lost pets home quickly


HomeSafe™ Code: the unique 8 digit alphanumeric code assigned to a pet that links to their profile -
also called: Tag Code


HomeSafe™ Hotline: the 24/7 hotline fielding calls for lost and found pets


Lost Pet Report: a user submitted report once realized their owned pet has gone missing. May be filed via a user’s account, or by calling our HomeSafe hotline


Personalization: in reference to tags, the ability to include a pet’s name on the front of certain designer styles, or to include contact information on the back - with the option to include a personal number or the DocuPet HomeSafe™ hotline number


Pet Profile: housed within a Pet Owner's account and contains relevant information about the pet


Safe & Happy Fund: DocuPet’s donation collection fund


Safe & Happy Partner: an identified shelter or animal welfare organization that is an official recipient of Safe & Happy Fund dollars


Standard (Municipal)Tag: in licensing communities, the non-designer option available at no additional cost, typically branded with municipal logo
