How to Validate an Address on a Pet Owner Profile

How-To:

1. On the main page, click on “Pet Owner Record Search” and conduct a search using the information of the pet owner you are looking for.

2. From there, click on the pet owner’s name to access their DocuPet profile. (Alternatively, if the search does not yield the result you are looking for, you may create a new pet owner profile.)

3. Now, click on the “Edit” option in the Pet Owner's profile. 

4. Next, scroll down to the address section. At this time, you can check for any mistakes on the address itself. If needed, re-type the address and use the “Type Ahead Functionality”.

  • Note: you do not have to use the type-ahead functionality; you may enter the address fields manually.

 

5. Once the address has been entered, a green button labeled “Validate Address” will appear. Click on this to validate the address. 

6. If the address is within the jurisdiction, then this confirmation banner will appear.

7. If the address is outside of the jurisdiction, you will need to add it into the Authoritative Address Tool manually.

8. Once the address has been validated, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click “Save Pet Owner Details”

9. Now on the Pet Owner’s profile, you can see the address has been validated and an 'authoritative address code' has been created.
