Searching For an Authoritative Address

How-To:

1. On the main dashboard, scroll down to Data Management / Administration and click on “Authoritative Address”.

2. Type in the address you are attempting to search and remember, less is more

  • Example: The address may be entered as Adobe Dr versus Adobe Drive. Unfortunately, these would not populate as a match in our system. To increase your chances of finding the correct address, type in 670 Adobe OR Adobe only.

After searching for an Authoritative Address that yields a result, you will see additional information associated with that address.  

Authoritative ID: This is the unique ID associated with the address. When the hyperlinked ID is selected, it links to the View / Edit screen where further information about the address can be found.

Address: Full address (civic, street name, city, state, ZIP) .

Apt/Suite/Unit: How many, if any, unit numbers are associated with the address. To see the specific unit numbers associated with an address, click the chevron on the left to expand and collapse the accordion to display the unit numbers associated with the authoritative address.

GPS Coordinates: If the address has a latitude and longitude, an icon will be displayed. Clicking the icon will open a new browser tab/window showing the latitude and longitude in Google Maps. Note, if there is no longitude and latitude associated with an address you can select ‘View/Edit’ and the coordinates will automatically be populated. Make sure to click ‘Save’. to retain the coordinates in the address record.

Organization and Jurisdiction: Displays your organization and the corresponding jurisdiction.

Pet Owners: Displays the unique IDs of Pet Owners associated with the authoritative address. Clicking on the hyperlinked Pet Owner ID will navigate you to the corresponding Pet Owner profile.
