Overview:
Only certain Organizations have specialized Dangerous Animal license type/fees based on individual community by-laws. In order for the DocuPet system to serve the appropriate license type and fee to these Pet Owners when licensing their pets, administrators must 'flag' the pet account accordingly.
Review and approval of the appropriate documentation regarding dangerous animals in your community remains the responsibility of your Organization. Once internal processes have been followed, administrators can manually add a 'dangerous animal' pet flag to a Pet's profile in the DocuPet system.
How-To:
-
Using the “Pet Owner Record Search” navigate to the Pet Owner account you are looking for.
-
Locate the Pet profile you are adding the flag to. Click “Edit”.
-
Under “License Options” you will see “Dangerous Animal” with a dropdown menu. Change the dropdown from "No" to “Yes”.
-
Click “Save Pet Details” at the bottom of the page.
- Moving forward, any renewal communications will include the Dangerous Dog pricing and the Pet Owner will be able to renew this Pet online themselves, as the system will automatically serve the Dangerous Dog License fee moving forward, unless the flag is removed from the Pet's DocuPet account by an administrator.
How To Process The Dangerous Dog License:
- Start by going through the normal steps in the licensing process. If you need further guidance, refer to this helpful resource: How to Place an Order for a License or Renewal.
- Once you get to the License Selection page, the “Dangerous Dog” license type and associated fee will automatically be served. Remember, the shortest duration of license type is always served - you can select a longer duration (if applicable) from the dropdown menu.
- From here, review and agree to any disclaimers and notices and proceed by selecting “Continue”
- Proceed with the licensing process as usual. If you need guidance, refer to How To Place an Order For A License Or Renewal
