In order for a Pet Owner to purchase a Service Animal License, a partner administrator must first add a Service Animal flag to the pet’s profile. This flag ensures that the appropriate license type and corresponding fee are applied during the order process.
Once the flag is added and the initial license is purchased, the Service Animal designation remains on the pet’s profile permanently (unless removed by an admin). The Pet Owner will then be able to renew the license online in future years and will automatically be served the service animal license fee.
How-To:
1. On the main page, go to “Pet Owner Record Search” and type in the first and last name of the pet owner you’re looking for.
2. Click on the Pet Owner’s name to access their DocuPet profile.
3. Click “Edit” to the right of the pets name.
4. Under “License Options” you will see “Service Animal” with a dropdown menu. Change the dropdown to “Yes”.
5. Click “Save Pet Details” at the bottom of the page.
6. Moving forward, any renewal communications will include the service animal discounted fee and the pet owner will be able to renew online and will be automatically served the service animal rate.
