How to Create a Walking Route

How-To:

You can create a Walking Route either when first setting up a Canvassing Zone or directly within the Canvassing Runs section.

1. To start, click on the button which says “View/Edit Walking Route”.

2. From here, you’ll see your selected Zone on the Canvassing Map as well as a list of street names/addresses in the bottom corner.

3. Now, you’ll take a look at the street names and decide where you want your Canvassing Representative to start. When you’ve decided, drag that address over to the right-hand side to ‘plot’ it.

4. Any time an address gets moved over to the right-hand side, further options will appear. You can then select if you want your Canvassing Representative to complete a certain number of addresses, if they’re visiting both sides of the street or just right/left side, and which direction they will be going (ascending/descending).

  • Keep in mind that the order of the address blocks will influence the order of the Run Sheets. They will not follow an alphabetical/numerical order, the determined Walking Route will be aligned with the Run Sheets for ease of use.

5. Once finished, you’ll select “Confirm” and continue the process with the rest of the addresses. From here, you’ll see the Walking Route displayed with the arrows across the map.

6. If you want to make edits, or start over, select the pencil or trash can icon beside the listed address.

7. Once you’re happy with the Walking Route, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page.
