Overview
This function is used to separate the address of a primary residence from any associated units at that address. This may be utilized when indicating that an Authoritative Address for the main house should appear as a separate record when there are multiple dwellings on the same property.
Example: a main house as the primary address, and Unit 1 is in a separate dwelling in the detached garage on the same property.
How-To:
1. Start by accessing the Authoritative Address tool in order to edit an existing record.
2. Once you have located the address record you want to edit, click on the ‘View / Edit’ button.
3. From the ‘View / Edit’ screen, there is a checkbox field below the Latitude and Longitude fields. Select the checkbox to apply the primary dwelling edit.
Note: This field will be disabled/not clickable if there are no units associated with this address record.
4. Click on the ‘Save’ button to proceed.
5. If there are any Pet Owners associated with this new primary dwelling record and you want this new change to be reflected on their account immediately, be sure to validate their address in their Pet Owner profile directly.
